One of my recommendations is regular oil pulling, as it can be used as a preventative measure at home to keep good oral hygiene. It is safe and has no side effects. Recent scientific studies demonstrate that regular oil pulling can be as effective and at the same time less risky than using a commercial mouthwash. They found coconut oil significantly lowered plaque index scores, reduced bacterial colony counts in saliva and reduced bad breath.
