X-ray Minimisation

Dental X-rays remain an essential diagnostic tool that provides information not visible during a dental exam.

At dental wellness we have invested in a Digital X-ray with the aim to optimise diagnostic information whilst minimising expose to radiation.

Digital radiography (digital X-ray) is the lastest technology ised to take dental X-rays and uses an electric sensor (instead of X-ray file) that captures and stores the digital image on a computer. This image can be instantly viewed and enlarged on a screen which helps us detect and solve underlying problems easier and faster.

Digital X-rays reduce radiation by 80-90% compared to the already low exposure of traditional dental X-rays. Not only are digital X-rays better for your safety, they are faster and more comfortable to take, which reduces your time in our dental practice.

Another advantage lies in the fact that the digital image is captured electronically which means there is no need to develop the X-rays, thus eliminating the disposal of harmful waste, leads foils and chemicals into the environment.

3D Cone Beam CT Technology

When you have a dental problem, dentists have relied on 2D x-rays to diagnose all dental problems such as decay and tooth pain. Dental Wellness has invested in modern technology, 3D x-rays, called Cone Beam CT. We are now able to offer a more accurate, less invasive care in many dental procedures, whilst utilizing less radiation. Viewing infected root canal treated teeth, boney infections and many other chronic dental situations.

As the first practice in Australia to offer a total metal-free solution, the placement of zirconia ceramic dental implants is carried out using keyhole surgery in most cases. With 3D Cone Beam x-ray viewing software we can take thousands of images and reconstruct them into a virtual 3D model. The entire implant procedure can now be computer guided. This results in more accurate implant placement with a less invasive approach. There is minimal recovery time, due to its non-surgical nature.
